Jess Myers is a shamelessly midwestern documentary photographer and filmmaker living and working in Chicago and beyond.
After graduating from Dominican University with a BA in Photography and a minor in Business she has since been active in the art world curating exhibitions. As a resident artist at Chicago Art Department Gallery, Myers exhibited projects such as Intersections: Folk Art Manifestations of Mourning and Warning, a multimedia study of roadside memorial ritual culture in America and "Raging Against," an experimental documentary film about the crossroads of haunting and myth in rural Appalachia.
As a documentarian, Myers is seeks to tell the stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things, human interest storytelling and exploration of social justice. As a former musician, she has a devotion to telling the stories of musicians through the means of live documentation and producing music videos.
